Description
As a staff artist for the Texas Game and Fish Commission from roughly the late 1940s through the early 60s, Wooldridge created many full-color oil and watercolor illustrations in addition to pen-and-ink sketches for the Commission’s monthly magazine, state pamphlets, educational brochures and posters. His work typically depicted birds, mammals, reptiles, and fish realistically, so they could be used for identification and education. The animals, both game and nongame, were usually shown in their native landscape, suggesting the importance of habitat conservation.

Location Notes
Given Wooldridge's many years of graphic arts work for the Texas Game and Fish Commission, perhaps a marker near the publication offices of its successor agency, Texas Parks and Wildlife, would be sensible.
