Orville Owen Rice

Description
Orville Rice, an architect and artist, was born in Yoakum, trained at the University of Texas, and went on to design buildings and to create wildlife illustrations. His art pieces appeared in the magazine, Texas Game and Fish (1945-55), in issues of the Living Bird (a journal of the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology), and for shows sponsored by the National Audubon Society, Wilson Ornithological Society and American Ornithologists Union.
Location Notes
As a wildlife student and artist from an early age, perhaps a marker could be erected in the town of his birth, near the Yoakum Heritage Museum, at 312 Simpson Street, Yoakum, Texas 77995.
