Beginning in 1990, M.R. Gonzales, Jr., a Pecos County commissioner and rancher, transferred ownership of Diamond Y Springs, protecting several endangered fish and including a buffer of some 4000 acres, to the Nature Conservancy.

Location Notes

Mr. Gonzales transferred property at Diamond Y Spring Preserve to the Nature Conservancy in Texas. The tract is located in Pecos County; off West Gomez Road, following Texas 18 to the north of Fort Stockton, Texas
