Description

Tim Hixon, a developer, philanthropist and commissioner for Texas Parks and Wildlife, worked with his wife Karen to fund and protect various parks in Texas, including Government Canyon in the San Antonio area, and Calhoun County’s Powderhorn Ranch. On a national scale, Hixon was also president of the Boone and Crockett Club, on the board of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and a founder of Game Conservation International.

One of Mr. Hixon's conservation efforts focused on protecting the Powderhorn Wildlife Management Area, located at Port O'Connor, Texas 77982
