Description

Fay Sinkin was a civic activist and community leader in San Antonio, with a special interest in water supplies and aquifer protection. She was the first woman elected to the Edwards Aquifer Underground Water District, serving from 1983 through 1989. She also helped found the Edwards Aquifer Preservation Trust, which purchased lands (including 4717 acres bought in 1993) that later became part of the Government Canyon State Natural Area.

Location Notes

Through her work with the Edwards Aquifer Preservation Trust and the Aquifer Protection Association, Ms Sinkin was an early proponent of Government Canyon State Natural Area, so a sign in her honor could be erected there, at 12861 Galm Road; San Antonio, Texas 78254
