Description

In May 1934, the Civilian Conservation Corps Company 854 completed 11 months of work at Blanco State Park building dams, bridges, roads, picnic areas and other structures. Blanco is reputed to be the first park in Texas to be completed by the CCC, as part of its effort to provide jobs and training for young men, to develop public parks and to provide more opportunities for outdoor recreation.
