Description

The Big Bend Ranch was purchased by Texas Parks and Wildlife in 1988. At 228,000 acres, the agency’s largest-ever acquisition. The seller was Robert O. Anderson, founder and head of the Atlantic Richfield oil company, was also a co-organizer of the John Muir Institute of the Environment and the Worldwatch Institute.
