Description
Affiliated with the Dallas 9 artist group of the ’30s and ’40s, the painter Alexandre Hogue grew to be well-known for his landscapes depicting the Dust Bowl ecological devastation caused by poor farming practices and drought in Texas, as well as in Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Kansas.
Location Notes
Alexandre Hogue grew up in Denton, Texas, and later returned to the Dalllas area to paint full-time in the 1920s and '30s, so it might be apt to site a marker at the Denton county square.
